Casa Fuente, Lanjaron – The one that was two houses! – How to sell a house in Spain

This weeks success story focuses on a beautifully reformed home on the historic Barrio Hondillo that was struggling to sell. It has been on the market for over a year. In that time we had agreed sales on other properties in the area. I already knew that the pictures were not great, you could see this online. There was also no video tour to show the house at it’s best. However, it was on a popular road and many people had requested properties in this area. What was wrong?

Proeprty: Barrio Hondillo, Lanjaron The background of this home

The foreign owner had bought the house many years ago when it was a reform project, whilst reforming the house they had the opportunity to purchase the neighbouring house and set about making their dream home in Spain. After many years of hard work put into the house and with many experiences along the way the house was completed. The owners were able to use this as a holiday home and many friends and family also enjoyed using the house from time to time. After a change in personal circumstances, it was important to find a buyer as quickly as possible and after spending time talking to the owner, I could feel how much emotion and effort had gone into the renovations and that this was not an easy decision for the seller.
